Fixed Rate Mortgages – where the interest rate is fixed for a certain period of time and monthly payments do not alter even if interest rates increase or decrease. The Chesham Building Society has fixed rate mortgage terms of three to five years. Once this fixed rate term has finished then the Bank of England Base Rate plus a percentage will be processed by the Chesham Building Society. There is an application fee but no early repayment charge once the fixed rate period has finished.
Flexible Tracker mortgages - these follow the Bank of England Base Rate this means that your monthly payments can increase or decrease and permit you to make over or underpayments. This can be done with a lump sum or consistent monthly overpayments. There is also the option later down the road to take what is known as a ‘payment holiday’. On top of the Bank of England Base Rate the Chesham Building Society makes a percentage charge.
Buy to let mortgages – this sort of mortgage is used by prospective or existing landlords and is for purchasing a property which then will be rented out. The money from the rental normally goes as a contribution to the repayment of the mortgage and it is possible for a landlord to repay 100% of the mortgage by utilizing the rental money. The Chesham Building Society offers two choices both of which are Tracker mortgages.
