The Swansea Building Society was established 1923 as a mutual Building Society. It is the 3rd largest Welsh mutual building society and has two branches.
The Society aims to preserve and heighten its good name in Wales as an independent financial organisation. At the end of December 2010 the Swansea Building Society’s total assets were in excess of £183m. Swansea Building Society mainly lends in South Wales.
It’s Head Office is situated at 11 Cradock Street, Swansea, West Glamorgan, SA1 3EW and it also has a branch at 496 Mumbles Road, Mumbles, Swansea SA3 4BX,
The society mortgage offer is called a ‘Variplus’ mortgage. This product is designed to be simple for customers and there are a variety of interest rates on offer which are dependent on the LTV (loan to value) and/or a customers financial circumstances.
The interest rates refer to the Swansea Building Society’s Standard Variable Rate which currently is 4.90%. The Swansea Building Society’s interest rates are variable and the society can alter these occasionally.
